As a President’s Aide and Cabinet member, Amaya has already built relationships that get student voices to the top. Amaya will ensure the SGA provides transparency, results, and student trust.
Free Food Truck Fridays: Fueling Student Voices – A campus favorite, because you shouldn’t have to chase down your Student Government.
Receipts, Not Just Promises: Launching a public progress tracker—students will see promises made, progress, and results.
Less Politics. More Partnership: Turning the Campus Life Committee into actual liaisons—so student orgs feel heard, not handled.
Monthly “Student Sound-Off” Forums: Open-location listening sessions.

R – Representation for All
Three-time senator, Campus Life Committee Co-Chair, Student org advocate, and former cheerleader—she’s lived the student experience she fights for. Amaya will create a space for every student to belong and be seen.
Study Abroad Task Force: Making global programs accessible for STEM majors without delaying graduation.
Launch a “Student Voices Council”: Made up of nominated students who don’t hold campus leadership roles, or affiliated with an org. but want to help shape student life policy.
Unity Roundtables: Greek life, unaffiliated students, athletes, and cultural orgs together.
Create a Student-Athlete Advisory Representative: Ensuring that the unique concerns of Wake’s athletes are part of every major student government conversation.
O – Opportunity That Matters
From bioethics research to global study programs, Amaya has built pathways—and she will implement programs to help students build careers, confidence, and community.
Leadership That Listens: I will host morning conversations with campus leaders about what matters most—student life, academics, and change. Show up, speak up, and eat well.
Global Doesn’t Mean Graduation Delay: Amaya will expand study abroad programs for STEM and pre-med students—and build academic guides to keep you on track while going abroad.
Ticketed but Heard: Amaya will push for a first-time ticket forgiveness policy, a clearer appeal process, and a warning-before-fining system—because students deserve fairness, not financial punishment for honest mistakes.
Foresting Initiative: I will push for a program that pairs current students with alumni for a nine-month mentorship focusing on personal and professional development, as well as career and network building. (Fostering Opportunities & Relationships to Empower Student Trajectories).
W – Wellness & Community Care
Whether it’s the clinic, the classroom, or campus life—Amaya shows up for student wellness with action, not lip service. She will continue to focus on physical, mental, academic, and social health for all.
Real Rest Doesn’t Fit in a week: Amaya will push to establish more pause days in high-stress months. Because burnout shouldn’t be part of the college experience.
One Wake. One Wellness: Amaya will establish a Wellness Committee designed to work with the administration for increased consistent wellness for all org and expanding to include cheerleaders, dancers, and club athletes.
Plant Your Positivity Events: Affirmations pots, and peaceful resets hosted by our new One Wake One Wellness committee.
Dorm Wellness Corners: Partner with RAs to provide rotating kits: snacks, affirmations, resources.
