Meet Amaya

Amaya Williams has spent the last three years showing up — for students, for service, and for change.

As a longtime member of Wake Forest’s Student Government, Amaya has been a Senator since her freshman year, served on the Campus Life Committee for three consecutive terms, and now serves as the Co-Chair of the Campus Life Committee and as a President’s Aide, working directly with university leadership to advocate for student needs at the highest level.

She’s collaborated with nearly every department on campus — from the UCC, Title IX, and Health & Wellbeing, to Campus Rec, the Women’s Center, Intercultural Center, LGBTQ+ Center, University Police, and more. Through this work, she’s built strong relationships and a clear understanding of how to navigate university systems — and how to push them forward.

She’s helped lead initiatives like Mental Health Week, free Food Trucks, advocating for academic rest days, and restructuring SG committees to be more student-focused. From tabling in Benson to sitting across from administrators in hard conversations, Amaya leads with transparency, consistency, and care. She isn’t afraid to speak up — and she’s committed to making sure students are heard, too.

Whether she’s in a meeting, a classroom, or a committee room, Amaya brings thoughtfulness, determination, and a deep belief in building a better Wake Forest.

She’s a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major with a minor in Bioethics, Humanities, and Medicine — a course of study that reflects her deep care for people, systems, and sustainable progress.

Her campaign is built on what she’s already done — and what she’s ready to keep doing.

G.R.O.W. — Grounded Leadership. Representation. Opportunity. Wellness.

She’s not running to make history. She’s running to make Wake Forest better — for everyone.
